The Master Bedroom
Decorated in a warm lemon colour wash it has a spectacular wedding hanging from Morocco as backdrop to a big 2m x 1.6m bed which you'll find made up with the best, crisply pressed linen sheets. There's a huge walk-in wardrobe with masses of shelf and hanging space as well as a hand-painted chest of drawers within the bedroom.
When designing the room the window opening was kept low so you can lie in bed looking out to the Grazalema mountains: this really is a room-with-a-view. Many guests who stay at Dar Hajra say that they've never slept better than here.

The Bathroom
The romantic feel of the bedroom is reflected in its bathroom which has featured in several interior design mags. A huge oval tub, big enough for two, has been sculpted into the natural rock with a big rain shower up above. The stylish freestanding sink is set on a 2.5m surface so there's masses of space to spread your toiletries around. Three window openings bring in the stunning mountain views, even when you're stretched out in the bath tub - maybe with a glass of the chilled bubbly that will be waiting for you on arrival.

The Siesta Room
On the top floor of the house is a second smaller bedroom which we call the 'siesta' room. This has the same panoramic views and can be set up as a double or a twin when families or two couples are staying. But we think that Dar Hajra is best suited to just one couple seeking a romantic, intimate and spectacular hideaway in the mountains - it's perfect for a first or second honeymoon. |
